Yesterday over on Insta stories…
I was giving you a peek into the design plans for our new foyer! It’s a huge space full of potential and we can’t wait to get started. With the three day weekend coming up, there’s no better time to get after it! Who else finds themselves planning house projects instead of BBQ’s during holiday breaks?
So let’s talk inspiration and design elements…
Large Rustic Console Table
I am absolutely loving this foyer design by High Street Market! With the mix of dark wood tones, and cool stone features in our new home I think a rustic console table with a mix of wood and concrete materials would be perfection!
3/4 White Board and Batten wall details
It’s no secret that our new house should be called the house of “greige” because every wall but the bathrooms are painted greige! Don’t get me wrong, I like using greige paint here and there, but not everywhere! I cannot wait to refresh the main floor by adding white paint to the walls and trim work! We’re planning to do a 3/4 wall board and batten much like this look from House Seven Design, but not all the way to the ceiling.
A pop of color
I always love when the interior of an exterior door is painted with a dark rich color! Especially when your walls are all white, it adds a little bit of drama, and the contrast you need to add interest to an otherwise minimalist space. This foyer inspiration by Park and Oak Design is the perfect example of using a deep moody color on your front door.
Console table styling
Foyers are one of my favorite spaces to design. Why? Because they give you the opportunity to create a show stopping vignette, and I LOVE vignettes! This vignette by Studio McGee showcases all of the essential design elements to choose from when styling a console table! I love the symmetry, texture, and subtle color palette.
I can’t wait to share all the details of how we bring this space together and the final reveal! Follow along on Instagram and stay tuned for DIY’S, Design Boards, Sources and more!
